depends of several (too much factors) about transpot, you must be aware about the japan rail pass (JRP) it's a good way to reduce some costs, but it's it doesn't work with all trains. Ken should be more aware than me. But if you plan going to Kyoto or Osaka, take it, as a single ticket costs...
